Satcha and Akira

Say hello to Satcha and Akira! These girls – #shepherd #hound mixes – are two years old and a bonded pair. They do EVERYTHING together. They were found on #WalpoleIslandReservation near #Wallaceburg, scavenging and surviving on their own. When a local #shelter discovered them, Akira was pregnant and had severe mange. The #sisters lived separately in the #shelter for a year as Akira got healthier and her #puppies were adopted, and Satcha recovered from her own severe case of mange. Even worse, the #shelter was closing down and the sisters were scheduled to be euthanized. (These poor girls had it #ruff, didn’t they?) Fortunately, #RescueDogsMatch #saved them and placed them in #foster care where they have been since #January 2015. As you can imagine, they have been adapting slowly to their new environment – taking months to come out from hiding or go outdoors or roll over for belly rubs – but now they are happier than ever and enjoy watching movies and cuddling. Satcha is the bolder sister and protector of Akira, always being the first to meet and explore unfamiliar people and territory. Akira loves snuggling and running in the yard and is working hard to lose some weight. They are doing fabulously in their foster home, but they need (and deserve) a #furever #home. They would do well with other #dogs (ones that are low-key and passive), #cats, and older children. Will you #adopt them? If you are interested in adopting them, get at me, dawg! Comment or DM me here or tweet me @wheredogsrule. They are from #RescueDogsMatch and need a wonderful #home so you can always email them directly at info@rescuedogsmatch.com to learn more about #Satcha&Akira and how you can #adoptnotshop them. And remember, #KING is #wheredogsrule.
